Why do we collect your personal data?

In order to comply with data protection laws we need a lawful basis to process your personal data. We use the following lawful reasons to obtain and use your personal data:

Consent

You have a right to withdraw your consent for marketing at any time, by emailing info@gwa-accountancy.co.uk.

Contract

We process your personal data when your enter into a contract with GWA Accountancy Limited to become a client. We will use your personal data to deliver your services including:

  • advice;

  • accountancy and tax compliance services; 

  • bookkeeping;

  • cloud-based accountancy software; and

  • dedicated cloud-based client portal access

Legitimate Interest

We process your personal data in order to meet the legitimate interest as chartered accountants. We may process your personal data for marketing purposes where we have a relevant or appropriate relationship with you or where there is a reasonable expectation of us doing so.

Who will have access to your personal data?

GWA Accountancy Limited directors, staff and subcontractors with particular access in the provision of services.

Processors

We will share your personal data with third party processors who provide services to the organisation these include:

  • Business system providers 

  • Website content and hosting providers including analytics

Joint controllers

The organisation does not share personal data of clients, directors, staff or subcontractors with any joint controllers.

Separate controllers

GWA Accountancy Limited may share your personal data with organisations where we have a legal obligation, contract or other legitimate interest to do so, including:

  • Regulators and other professional bodies

Third countries

Your Personal Data will not be transferred to countries outside of the European Economic Area (EEA), unless it is held on servers used by cloud-based accountancy and client portal software located outside of the EEA.

 

Where data is transferred outside of the EEA, it is done on the basis of appropriate safeguards, for example binding corporate rules, EU model clauses or a declaration of adequacy.

How long do we hold your personal data?

GWA Accountancy Limited will retain data for as long as it is needed for the relevant regulatory, assurance and conduct purpose. Specific records may also be retained for other legitimate reasons for example to resolve complaints and disputes and to comply with other legal and oversight obligations.
